Position: Civil Estimator
Location: Pickering, Ontario
Years Experience: 5 minimum
As the Civil Estimator you will be responsible for
performing detailed take offs for civil estimates and provide civil estimating
support to the estimating department and project management teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Ø
Provide support to field operations with respect to civil
estimates
Ø
Work with Chief Estimator to develop bid strategies and closing
of civil estimates
Ø
Work with other discipline Estimators to develop civil scope of
work costs in multi –discipline estimates
Ø
Review proposal documents on all civil discipline bids to
determine scope of work and estimate content
Ø
Provide quantity survey for all civil estimates
Ø
Assist in pricing, establishing indrects, and maintaining and
updating cost codes and productivity of all civil budgets and estimates
Ø
Quantify sub trade scopes of work for budget and estimating
purposes
Ø
Help develop accurate project specific bid schedules
Ø
Work with project controls and project tracking systems
Requirements:
Ø
Preference will be given to candidates that possess both related
trade and technical certification.
Ø
Advanced blue print reading.
Ø
Excellent and proven organizational skills.
Ø
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
Ø
Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Ø
Willing to travel to job sites as required
Salary dependent upon experience

Responsibilities:
As an integral part of a team of professionals who are involved with companies
worldwide, especially in the power generation industry; You will be required
to:
- Report directly to the Technical
Field Advisor;
- Plan and design removable
insulation systems;
- Prepare customer, in-house
and design specifications;
- Assist and support
manufacturing shop in layouts and periodic inspections;
- Develop 2D manufacturing shop
drawings and as built drawings;
- Assist in preparing quotes,
technical reports, specifications and calculations;
- Follow ISO procedures;
Requirements:
- Mechanical engineering
technician diploma from a recognized community college;
- 1 to 4 years of AutoCAD
experience;
- Experience with producing
manufacturing and production drawings;
- Good organizational,
technical, writing, communication and computer skills;
- Ability to follow directions
and communicate effectively.
